The Department of Biomedicine at Faculty of Health at Aarhus University invites applications for a position as a Postdoc in physiology as from the 1st September 2023 to the 31st of August 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is part time (2 days a week from the 1st of Sept. 2023 to the 15th of March 2024. From the 16th of March 2024 to the 31st of August 2027, it is a fixed-term full-time position.

Department of Biomedicine

The department of Biomedicine priorities diversity and a good work environment, as this is a prerequisite for groundbreaking research. The Department of Biomedicine provides research-based teaching of the highest quality and is responsible for a large part of the medical degree program. Academic staff contribute to the teaching. English is the preferred language in the laboratory, at meetings and at seminars. The department employs approx. 500 people from all over the world, and they make use of the department's modern laboratory-, core- and animal facilities. Your job responsibilities

As Postdoc, your primary tasks are the conduction of in vivo experiments in mice to study alterations in systemic acid base handling. You contribute to the development of the department through teaching and research of high international quality. In your daily work, you have a close interaction with competent colleagues.

Your main tasks will consist of:

  • Research within systemic acid base physiology and pathophysiology.
  • Teaching medical students in our physiology course.
  • Supervision of data analysis and data collection in a clinical study in people with Cystic Fibrosis and patients with chronic kidney disease.
You will report to the principal investigator Prof. Jens Leipziger.

Your competences

You have a background within biomedical research and have completed your Ph.d. studies. Experience with animal experiments and data analysis will be considered obligatory.

As a person, you have good interpersonal skills, are friendly and helpful and able to contribute to a good work environment.

We expect you to be fluent in oral and written English.

In order to be assessed as qualified for the position, you must meet these academic criteria.
